The one that started it all.
If there's a whistle that defines Irish traditional music, it's the Low D. Deep, full-bodied, warm in the low register and clear up high, it's the key most players learn on and the one most come back to. There's a reason for that.
James has been making the Low D longer than any other whistle in the range. It's the one he plays himself. The one he was refining in that Carlow workshop long before anyone else knew his name.
Every Low D that leaves here has been played and listened to before it's packed up. Not tested, listened to. There's a difference, and James will tell you so himself.
